ADOPTION PROCEDURE

At Lola's Legacy we will ask you to fill in a pre-adoption form this will include details of your past dogs and breed preference/experience, your family, home set up and work situation.

Anyone hoping to adopt will need to complete forms and be homechecked, this will be carried out by experienced homecheckers.

Without a homecheck or forms the adoption will not procced.

We will not allow anyone under the age of 18 to adopt. We will however, rehome to tenants and also those unable to work for whatever reason, or allow them to foster. Each home circumstance is different, as is each of our dogs needs too.

You will be required to pay an adoption fee, this is to help contribute towards the following;- vaccinations, transport, flea treatment, worming treatment, neutering, raised bowls, collar, harness, lead, coat, food, any other additional vet treatment required, microchipping and in the case there is extra donated this enables us to be able to help more dogs like your furry friend you have hopefully adopted.

We will liaise with you through-out the adoption procedure to ensure that the dog that you adopt is matched to your family and lifestyle and that you can provide and meet the needs and requirements of a particular rescue dog. We also ask, that you travel to meet the foster dog, in their foster home. We do not arrange a dog delivery service for any of our dogs and will only do so in some circumstances if the foster is willing, this is to cause as less disruption as possible for the dog and this will only happen after all relevant checks have taken place. We also request all potential adopters takeout the dogs trust companion club insurance which is just £25 per year but please check their website.

AFTER ADOPTION

Once you have adopted from Lola's Legacy we will transfer the microchip into the adopters name and provide lifetime rescue back up. This means that if you can no longer keep the dog, we will arrange for the dog to be bought back into our care. This will not be immediate and you will have to bare with us making the arrangements.

It is as important to ensure that the home remains a happy, healthy and safe place not only for the dog but also for their family, to ensure this the team at Lola's Legacy will always be on hand and available to assist/advise you at anytime.
